It\^{o}'s formula for L\'evy-It\^{o} processes taking values in the dual of nuclear space

The paper develops a mathematical tool called Ito's formula for a broad class of stochastic processes that take values in abstract infinite-dimensional spaces. Ito's formula is a fundamental result in probability theory that tells you how smooth functions of randomly evolving quantities change over time, generalizing the ordinary chain rule from calculus to settings involving randomness. The challenge here is that the processes live in the "dual of a nuclear space," which is a very general type of infinite-dimensional space that arises naturally when studying things like random distributions, random fields, or solutions to stochastic partial differential equations.

The paper first builds the formula in an abstract setting using a technical framework called cylindrical martingale-valued measures, which provides a unified way to handle stochastic integrals in these exotic spaces. This requires carefully tracking how the randomness accumulates over time, including contributions from continuous fluctuations as well as sudden jumps. The jump component is particularly important here, because the processes studied belong to the Levy-Ito class, meaning they can have both smooth continuous parts and unpredictable discontinuous jumps, similar to how stock prices can drift gradually but also spike suddenly.

The main payoff is a concrete Ito formula for Levy-Ito processes driven by Levy processes in duals of reflexive nuclear spaces, which covers a wide range of models used in physics, filtering theory, and mathematical finance. This result lets researchers rigorously compute how functionals of such processes evolve, which is essential for deriving equations that describe the dynamics of complex systems. The work extends classical finite-dimensional and Hilbert-space results to a much more general setting, filling an important gap in the theory of infinite-dimensional stochastic analysis.
